Last night (29th September) a GMP team were out patrolling the area around Braithwaite Road in Lowton following numerous reports of anti-social behaviour in the area during the last week.
The team attended the home address of one boy responsible for some of the issues and issued a warning in relation to his use of a moped.
A GMP Leigh, Atherton & Hindley spokesman said:
“If it carries on being used anti-socially we’ll seize it. We also have images of other young people responsible for the issues and we’re identifying them one by one, so further action will follow.
“As well as those who are local we know that some of the young people causing issues in Golborne and Lowton are coming from Ashton-in-Makerfield and Leigh, so we’re in the process of speaking to local schools too.
“The team will continue to be out and about in the area this week.
“Please continue to report incidents, as it helps us to direct our patrols to the right places.
“We know it can be sometimes difficult getting through using the 101 number, so please consider using the online reporting option or livechat feature at https://crowd.in/uaxgA2, or report information about crime completely anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always dial 999.”
